IJEN CRATER TOUR

Ijen Crater is the biggest crater in Java. Ijen Crater Area Tourism Park or Nature Reserve is located in the District of Ijen slippery, and the District Klobang Banyuwangi, Bondowoso. Around 04.00 am, we pick you at the hotel. Due to erratic weather, it is better to always carry a raincoat when climbing. Our journey will take about 2 hours to drive a jeep (4x4 WD). Because the road is very broke. So land-rover or jeep which has four wheel driving is the best vehicle to use across this condition.

Along the way, we will pass some of the plantations, among others: coffee, cloves, pine and rubber. And occasionally wild animals will appear in front of you, such as: monkeys, deer, butterflies, birds, and others. After a few minutes drive, we arrived at the parking area Paltuding. Here we will start climbing as far as 3 km. In Bromo mount there is a horse that we can lease rent if we are tired of walking. But here, just by walk we reached the top of Ijen mount. While we climb, we will find an amazing moment. It is sulfur miners. They take sulfur from the bottom of the crater. Here the smoke is thick, but with equipment such as gloves masks to the degree necessary, they are still looking for the molten sulfur. Molten sulfur derived from the piping leading to the source of the volcanic gases that contain sulfur. The burden is quite heavy between 80 to 100 kg. The miners are used to carry heavy load, they walked along the path on the caldera cliffs down the mountain.

After a few minutes, we arrived at the peak of Ijen mount. Here, you can see beautiful and amazing scenery. Crater lake of bluish green with sulfur smoke haze and a very charming. This crater has a very high level of acidity is close to zero so that the human body can dissolve quickly. In addition, cold air will add to the sensation. A variety of plants that exist only in the highlands can also be found, such as Edelweiss Flower and Pine Mountain. We can also enjoy the beautiful sunrise here. Don’t forget to take the picture to complete your memories. After you are satisfied to take pictures and enjoy the scenery, we come back down to Paltuding (parking area). It’s about at 12.00 am, we go back to the hotel.

SUKAMADE BEACH TOUR ( TURTLE’S BREEDING SPOT )

After Alas Purwo national park, we have Meru Betiri national park. It’s not much different from Alas purwo, Meru betiri is a natural and quiet beach. But here you can see directly turtle’s breeding spot also. For reach this place, we must spend about 6 hours. The distance is about 97 km to southwest of Banyuwangi. We would pick up you in your hotel or in FERRY at 07.00 am. For about 6 hours along the trip we could enjoy some beautiful panorama, such as : Rajegwesi beach, Goa Jepang ( Japanese cave ), Teluk hijau beach a fantastic green bay, plantation of rubber, coffee and cocoa, then we would stop to the traditional production of brown sugar. So though the traveling is so far and spend much time, you would not been bore.

At 02.00 pm we have arrived in the guest house, about 1 km from Sukamade beach. You could take a rest a little time before the next section. At 04.00 pm we would go to the sea turtle hatchery to see where a lot of tukik is saved. Tukik is turtle’s baby. Here you could see kind of turtle in Sukamade beach. They are: green turtle, olive ridley turtle, hawksbill turtle and leatherback turtle. After that, we could see directly the release of some tukik accompanied by the rangers. Because of tukik must live in free sea for their growth. In order to turtle would not been extinct in the future. Then we come back to the guest house to dinner with traditional menu of Banyuwangi.

A night adventure tour to Sukamade beach is an unforgettable moment. At 08.00 pm we go to the beach where we release the some tukik just now. We must wait it a few times. Always remember, obey ranger’s regulations! Please turn off your lamp or other lighting because turtle will be afraid and it couldn’t lay the egg. If you were luck, you could see a wonderful view, female turtle was laying more than one hundred eggs on the beach’s sand. Wait a moment, until turtle laying all of the eggs. After that, let it back into the sea. Then we could take and calculate one by one of the eggs carefully into the sack which brought by rangers. If all the eggs have collected, we could go back to guest house.

The next day, at 06.00 check out from the guest house. Before breakfast, we would go to the sea turtle hatchery again to plant some eggs which we get last night. For the depth of excavation must be same with before ( when female turtle plant it ), in order to all of eggs will hatch successfully. Don’t forget to give your name at the note and take a picture to complete your memories. After that, we take breakfast in small shop of Rajegwesi then we back to hotel or FERRY.

BALURAN NATIONAL PARK

The unique Baluran National Park is unlike anywhere else on Java. This is a dry country-side of open forests and scrub land, bordered at the coast by marshes, swampy groves and white beaches. The park is rich in wildlife such as deer, monkey, wild pigs and the extremely rare leopard. Go on safari here and see the thousands of exotic birds that call this place home. Despite the impact of illegal trapping for the caged bird trade, it’s still common to see green peafowl, red and green jungle fowl, and bee eaters. A land-rover or jeep is the best vehicle to use across these rugged grassy plains. Here, the wild ox, deer and birds can be photographed in their natural habitat.

We will pick up you in hotel at 07.00 am. The travelling is about 2 hours from Banyuwangi.  Along side we will see some beautiful places. Watu dodol beach first. This place is very precious. The combinations of hill, forest and beach make the beautiful scenery. Its beauty is more completed by a giant stone with a plant stands up in the middle of highway to Surabaya. The romantic panorama provides a good place for jogging track, cross-country as well as enjoying the beauty of Bali strait in distance. Here you can see a Gandrung dancer statue which as icon of Banyuwangi and as a traditional dance of Banyuwangi. From here we can see Bali strait also.

After traveling for a few minutes, we arrived at the first post of Baluran National Park. Guide will buy entrance ticket here. Then we continue to Bekol. While traveling, don’t forget to prepare your camera, because occasionally wild animals will appear in front of you, such as : monkeys, deer, butterflies, peacocks, and a variety of birds. A few kilometers, we can see savanna feeding animals. The wide grassland is very beautiful view. Then, we arrived in Bekol. There are facilities here such as animal observation, research house, guest house, and the tower of view. We will climb the tower of view a few minutes, to see the animals being fed from a height. After that, we will go to Bama. It is the location of marine tourism, fishing locations, diving / snorkeling, and wildlife attraction. A lot of monkeys were joking with others here. It is very funny view. It’s not far from Bama there is a beautiful mangrove forest. We can enjoy this view. There is a small cottage which we can use to enjoy the scenery while taking a picture or maybe lunch here. Sometimes there is fisherman were fishing in the traditional way with a small boat. It’s also a unique view. After a few minutes we take a rest and you’re satisfied to take pictures, we will go back to the hotel.
